Cookie Policy

We don't use advertising cookies, and we don't use analytics cookies. These are the only cookies and browser storage Treees uses:

• Sign-in cookies (authjs.session-token, authjs.csrf-token, authjs.callback-url)
  Keep you signed in securely. Essential.
• Invite cookie (treees_ref)
  Set when you open a friend's invite link, so they get credit when you sign up.
• Browser storage (Sound on/off, hillside hint, game best score, keeping your user name)
  Remembers your choices on this device.
• Offline copy (treees-shell)
  Keeps a copy of the public pages and icons so Treees opens without a connection. It never stores signed-in pages.

Separately, we use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited. It does not set cookies. Visitors are counted with a short-lived request hash that resets each day, and we only see aggregated statistics (for example page paths, referrers, country and device type). Donation and invite identifiers are removed before those page views are recorded.

The planting site map loads its tiles from OpenStreetMap, which sees your IP address but sets no cookies.

When you sign in, join the waitlist or send us a message, our host Vercel runs a quick check on technical browser signals to stop automated spam. It's used only for that.
